Sub-Region: Dillon’s Point, Marlborough

Located at the confluence of the Wairau and Ōpaoa Rivers near Marlborough’s coast, Dillon’s Point features deep, mineral-rich alluvial soils layered over sand — the perfect environment for vibrant, expressive Sauvignon Blanc.

Winemaking

The 2022 season began with heavy rain, ending three years of drought. Warm weather in December led to excellent fruit set, while late-summer rain replenished soil moisture. Cool days and nights preserved bright acidity. Despite the challenges of the Omicron peak, the team harvested at optimal ripeness, retaining intense fruit flavours. After gentle pressing, parcels were batch-fermented in stainless steel to showcase the sub-region’s pure fruit character.

The Story: Rohe Series

“Rohe” means territory in Te Reo Māori. This range celebrates Marlborough’s sub-regions and their unique expressions. Each bottle of Rapaura Springs tells a story of water, land, and family — crafting wines that reflect pristine landscapes, pure waterways, and a deep passion for the region.

Tasting Notes

This wine oozes ripeness, with expressive aromas of passionfruit, tropical fruit, blackcurrant and boxwood. The palate reflects the nose with intense fruit characters, balanced with a salty minerality and mouth-watering acidity. This wine is immediately expressive but will continue to drink well for the next three years
