Bordeaux is “arguably the finest wine region in the world” (Hugh Johnson) and this fine collection is one you don’t want to miss. These small-estate, hard-to-get-hold-of clarets offer extraordinary value and will bring you some very fine drinking pleasure!
Château Gromel Bel Air Cuvée Eva 2018, Bordeaux Supérieur AOC
Cuvée Eva is a triple-Gold-medal Bordeaux Supérieur from a 150-year-old cellar situated just north of Fronsac, neighbour of Pomerol. From a tiny plot of high altitude vines, this luscious wine is named after the owner’s daughter, so you know it is going to be good. It melds velvety Merlot and deep, rich Cabernet on a long, smooth finish. Aged a year in oak to gain elegant notes of vanilla that balance the wealth of ripe black fruit.
Château Montlabert Grâce Dieu 2022, Saint-Émilion AOC
A plush Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from a grand, imposing, 18th-century estate. It lies within the lieu-dit Grace Dieu that lends the property its name. From the lovely ripe 2022 vintage, it’s another velvety Merlot blend with a little of both Cabernets to offer silky ripe plum and cassis fruit with cedary oak. 14 months in French oak barrels with half of those new lend layers of complexity.
Château Maine d'Arman 2020, Côtes de Bourg AOC
The Maine d'Arman estate is situated at one of the highest points of Cotes de Bourg and benefits from the red gravel and clay soils perfect for ripening Merlot. This superb 2020 vintage is full of rich, deep, classic fruit flavour. Predominantly Merlot, with Cabernet and a small amount of Malbec. Aged for a year in French oak barrels, look forward to deep fruit with seductive notes of mocha, tobacco and vanilla. Rich and appealing!
We have only very limited stocks of these fine Bordeaux, and they will be very popular, so don’t miss out. Put your order in as soon as you can!
